Before we start this essay, please note the change in the footer of all the webpages on this site: the copyright has been changed from copyrighting the entire site to only copyrighting the Content Management System being used to manage the content and presentation of the website. The essays are being placed in the public domain. As a computer programmer, I am very aware of the implications of this change of policy.
